Session Title: Enhancing Climate Resilience Across the Department of Defense
Session Description: The Department of Defense (DOD) recognizes climate change as a threat multiplier that could jeopardize National Security. To increase resilience to extreme weather events, DOD must collaborate with other agencies to improve climate literacy, create plans for safeguarding DOD infrastructure, and ensure personnel safety both prior to and immediately after extreme weather events. Join this session to hear from DOD leadership in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Energy, Installations, and Environment (EI&E) and Military Service leaders in EI&E and Installations, Energy and Environment on their climate changes strategies and plans.

Session Description: Following the release of Executive Order 14008, Tackling the Climate Crisis at Home and Abroad, the United States made climate considerations an essential element of foreign policy and national security. Under this Executive Order, federal agencies have been taking a government-wide approach to build resilience to climate change impacts, protect public health, and conserve critical lands and waterways. Join this session to hear from federal leaders at CEQ, NOAA, DOI, and USACE on their agencies' plans and priorities for responding to climate change impacts.
